Fibroblast involves the use of tiny acupuncture needles in a handheld device. These needles do not touch the epidermis. Rather, energy is produced between the epidermis and needle. This forms micro-millimetre dots that will contract and tighten loose skin.
Just a few of the skin issues and forms of looseness that we can remove, resolve or tighten via fibroblast, include: wrinkles and lines, acne scarring, bingo wings, tags, stretch marks, under eye bags, excess hanging skin on arms, tummies or by the ears and hooded eyes.
On the day, we recommend not wearing makeup for the treatment. A numbing agent will be applied to the area and is left to take effect for 1 hour. Then, the session begins with multiple connections of the fibroblast tip. You may feel some heat in the treatment area, which may be uncomfortable.
Immediately after, the treatment area may be red and slightly swollen with small carbon spots. The area may feel like you have sunburn which can last for a few hours. The carbon spots will lift within 5 – 14 days depending on the area treated, and your results will gradually improve over the following 8 – 12 weeks.
You will find our pre-procedure and aftercare advice below.
Like all cosmetic treatments, the effects of fibroblast are not completely permanent. However, your results should last for years depending on the area treated.
The effects will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but you can expect to see the final results after 8 weeks.
For some, additional treatments may be required thereafter to further or maintain this. Also, you should avoid smoking, alcohol consumption and prolonged sun exposure to maximise the duration of your results.
Prior to the procedure, the treatment area should not be inflamed. Should not be prone to keloid scars. Must not have diabetes, healing disorders or lymphatic draining issues. You must not be tanned/sunburnt. You must have no history of hyperpigmentation/hypopigmentation. Not suitable if you display herpes simplex.
We recommend you consult with your medical doctor before booking a treatment. Cannot be performed on those with a pacemaker. You cannot have the treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If treating the eye area, you should remove any eyelash extensions.
This treatment is not advised for those with very dark skin (it is only recommended for Fitzpatrick Scales 1 – 3). This is because there is a higher risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation.
